Hey friendddss!! We got into Columbia around 11:00 Saturday night and made it safely to where we are staying.

Wow, I can’t believe I’ve been in Columbia for a week already! I was in church yesterday and during worship they were playing the song Gratitude. They were singing in Spanish and our group was singing in English. It was honestly the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard! I was just overwhelmed and honored to be able to experience almost like a bigger picture of God’s heart in a way. Just in the way they do things is different from how we do them in America but how each culture holds something unique about God and His character and I was just hit with how creative God is and how much He takes joy in diversity. I’m just overwhelmed with thankfulness in being able to catch a bigger glimpse of God’s heart.

We are partnered with a ministry in Medellin, Columbia, one of the biggest cities in Columbia. The foundation is set up with recovery programs for men and women alongside of kids ministry, youth ministry, and homeless ministry. The foundation aims to be self sufficient so a lot of the work we do is helping with the work around the building.

Let me try and paint you picture of the foundation. The ground level has a bakery, thrift store, and church auditorium. Second floor and third floor are the dorms for the men and women in the program. Third floor is kitchen and kids classrooms. And then we have the roof that connects to our building. There is three floors in our building, we take over two floors. We have bedrooms and a small kitchen and living space on each floor. Honestly, i feel so blessed with the accommodations here and how well they are taking care of us physically and spiritually!

We rotate tasks weekly. The tasks are kitchen, vegetables ( this consist of sorting and cleaning the crates of vegetables that get donated to the foundation), recycling, kids ministry, youth ministry, mens ministry ( there is currently no women in the women’s program so the guys have been the only ones working with programs here at the foundation),and then every Wednesday we go out and hand out bread to the homeless.

My team was in the kitchen this week. We did a lot of prep work, cutting crates and crates of vegetables.

That’s all for now and as always, prayers are greatly appreciated!
