Hey friends! Here’s a little update from this week…
This is my last week of training camp so it was a fairly chill week. We had a squad adventure day to Mt. Yonah, it was quite the adventure involving a bit of a trail confusion or lack there of…let’s just say some of us took the scenic route! 🙂 Once we got to the top of the mountain we watched the sunset, roasted hotdogs, and spent the night under the stars. It ended up being so fun and many memories made!
The most GORGEOUS view, am i right!? God’s creation is so beautiful!
This week we got our teams for the field finalized and I’m so excited to spend the next 8 months with my girls! It’s so crazy how I’ve already seen God moving in our group and how He’s placed us together for a reason. We’ve named our team Teshuva, a greek word that means, “A change of mind ,leading to a change of heart, resulting in a change of action, involving a turn from sin ,and returning to God.” Referencing Romans 2:4, which talks about God’s kindness leading us repentance. We felt like God was speaking this over our group that His kindness shown through us will lead people back to Him. Wow, I have goosebumps just writing this, God’s going to do so much through our group and I can’t wait to see Him move!!
Tomorrow we leave for Black Mountain, North Carolina where we’ll spend a week doing disaster relief. I am beyond excited to get out and start working! We come back to base for debrief and head to Columbia October 4!!!
I thought I’d share this photo for the people back home who are wondering how I’m surviving without my dog Harper…yes I found a new furry friend! 🙂
The ” campus dog” Maui truly thinks he’s a lap dog and loves people so much. He has been so good for me when I’m missing home!
That’s all for now…as always prayers are greatly appreciated!!
Until next time,
Amanda 🙂
